Questions people actually ask

What's the difference between the two plans?
How long it lasts and how you pay. Both include your advisor, calls, messaging, the full checklist and every tool. Lifetime is $149 once, and it never runs out. Monthly is $29 a month with a 6-month minimum, then month to month until you cancel.
How does the monthly plan's 6-month minimum work?
It's $29 a month, renewing automatically until you cancel — you tick a box to agree to that before you pay. The first 6 monthly payments are a commitment: you can cancel any time on your Billing page, in the app or on the website, and if you do it inside the first 6 months the plan ends after your 6th payment. After that, cancelling stops it at the end of the month you've paid for, and nothing more is charged. We email you a week before it first carries on past the minimum.
Why not just ask an AI chatbot?
An AI chatbot can give you a good general list. It can't know what your bank branch, your landlord or your local Social Security office actually asks for, it can't look over your documents before you go, and it isn't there when the desk says no. Your advisor is a person who does all three, by message, phone and video, and stays with you until you're set up.
Is this on top of rent and deposits?
Yes. Our fee buys you the advisor and the process. Your rent, deposit, SIM, transit card and any government fees are paid by you, directly to the provider, at the normal price. We never take a commission from a landlord, bank or carrier — if we did, we'd have a reason to push you somewhere that isn't best for you.
Is anyone physically with me?
No — Borderly is remote. Your advisor works with you by message, phone and video, before you fly and after you land. You do the in-person parts (the bank branch, the SSA office) fully prepared, and your advisor is a message away while you're there.
What's the refund policy?
Lifetime has a 7-day money-back guarantee: within 7 days of paying, one click on your billing page refunds it in full. It's once per person and per card, and after 7 days it isn't refundable. The monthly plan has no refunds, but you can cancel it any time (inside its 6-month minimum, it ends after the 6th payment) and keep access until the end of the month you've paid for. The refund policy page has the details.
What if a monthly payment fails?
We retry automatically and email you. Access pauses until it's paid; update your card from the billing page and everything comes straight back.
What if I don't get on with my advisor?
Tell us and we'll reassign you. A bad match is worse than no match.
Can you guarantee I'll get an apartment or an SSN?
No, and be suspicious of anyone who does. Landlords make their own decisions, and SSN eligibility depends on your employment. What we promise is that you'll be prepared and never guessing.
Do you give immigration or legal advice?
Not ourselves — we help with logistics and practical setup. If you hit an immigration problem once your visa is issued — arriving in the US, keeping your status, CPT, OPT or H-1B — we put you in touch with an immigration lawyer we work with. Your university's Designated School Official is also free to ask about your status.
